Micro-States

[I'm just posting this in case anyone finds it interesting.  It's not relevant to the Androsphere or men's issues in anyway that I can think of.]

A Microstate (http://www.nationmaster.com/encyclopedia/Microstate) is an independent nation-state with a population of ~100,000 or fewer.  There are ~40 microstates in the world and below are a list of them with a link to it's page from the Citizendia.org.  (Or you could check out the CIA World Factbook instead if you are so inclined).  Although microstates are only independent nation-states, I've also included colonies, dependent territories etc.

Microstates are interesting exactly because of their small population.  Imagine if a group of 5000 people (or 1000 families) got together and decided to emigrate to a microstate, with a population of 10,000, over a period of say 5 years.  If the group of immigrants acted as a single political bloc on the island then they could form a new political party, get all of the immigrants to vote for that party and then take over the government and run the microstate.  Or alternately to avoid drawing attention to their schemes the immigrants could put several political candidates up for election who have different overt political agenda but have the same covert political agenda.  The latter idea is basically the Hegelian dialectic on a political sense, i.e. control both sides of an equation so that you can determine the outcome.  Either way the outcome is the same: you control a government of your own.  Taking over an existing micro-state is a debatable alternative to secession or establishing your own nation-state.  (Though as the Balkan states in the 2000's and South Sudan in 2011 independence via secession are practicable).
